Survivor (1987) unfolds in a bleak, post-apocalyptic world where our lone astronaut, simply called The Survivor, wanders through the remnants of civilization. The pacing is a bit uneven, which adds to the sense of isolation and dread. It’s fascinating to see how the practical effects capture the desolation of a nuclear wasteland—really gritty and raw. The film's atmosphere is heavy with despair, but there's an underlying thread of hope as he seeks out signs of life. There are some interesting performances, particularly from the lead, who conveys a deep sense of loss and determination. It definitely has that 80s sci-fi vibe, blending action and adventure in a uniquely haunting way. Worth a look for its distinct tone and execution.
