The practical effects and battle sequences are well-executed, adding a raw dimension you don't see much these days. The pacing can be a bit uneven, but that kind of fits the whole journey aspect. There's this interesting exploration of culture clash, too, as Banderas’ character learns to respect his unlikely allies.
