The Art of Fighting is an interesting blend of action and comedy, set in a high school backdrop. Byung-tae's character is relatable, the underdog who just can't catch a break. The pacing has a nice ebb and flow; it balances the humor with the fight sequences well. Those practical effects during the fight scenes are pretty solid, especially for a film of this scale. Pan-su, the martial arts mentor, brings a certain charisma that keeps things engaging. The film explores themes of resilience and friendship, which are pretty classic but executed in a way that feels fresh without any over-the-top dramatics. It’s not trying too hard, which I appreciate.
Interesting action-comedy dynamics.Strong character development.Unique take on high school life.
