The pacing, while a bit uneven at times, builds a nice tension, and you can really feel the isolation of the setting. Practical effects are employed in a way that adds a gritty realism to the horror. Performances feel genuine, capturing the dynamics of friendships and relationships under threat. It’s not your average creature feature, and there's something to be said about its unique aquatic terror.
