So, 'The Barrier' is quite an interesting watch. It follows Arthur Macdonald, a fresh grad who has this really close call with a truck – sets the whole tone of tension right away. As a traffic safety engineer, he’s got this idea to put up a median barrier to enhance safety, but of course, he faces pushback from his boss and politicians. The film does a decent job of exploring themes like bureaucratic indifference and the struggle of being passionate in a system that doesn't care. The pacing can feel a bit uneven at times, but it builds this palpable frustration. Performances are solid, especially in those tense moments where Arthur’s determination clashes with the apathy around him. It’s got a gritty, realistic feel, not overly flashy, but it gets the point across. Definitely leaves you thinking.
