The Beach Girls (1982) is this quirky little comedy that captures the carefree vibe of summer in a rather wild way. You’ve got these three girls, right? They embody different sides of youthful exploration. The naive one, bless her heart, is swept along by her more experienced friends. It’s this clash of innocence and experience, which gives it a pretty interesting tone. The pacing feels a bit uneven at times, but it kinda adds to that laid-back beach atmosphere. And there’s that subplot with the near-sighted Captain Bly, which brings in some offbeat comedy. You can’t help but appreciate how it tries to blend coming-of-age themes with those classic beach party antics, even if it’s a bit rough around the edges.
