The Bottomfeeder is an interesting blend of horror and dark comedy that doesn’t shy away from its absurd premise. The story revolves around a young woman who becomes possessed by a demon named Gluteus, and, well, the demon has a peculiar appetite. It’s both unsettling and oddly hilarious watching her friends scramble to save her while dealing with the bizarre consequences. The pacing feels a bit off at times, but it adds to the film's unique charm. The practical effects are surprisingly well done, especially given the premise, and there’s a certain rawness to the performances that feels genuine, which is refreshing. You definitely get a sense of its low-budget roots, but it embraces that, which gives it character. It’s a wild ride that sticks with you, for better or worse.
Watch for the practical effects that elevate the absurdity. The performances capture a raw, organic feel despite the strange premise.Interesting themes of friendship and desperation in a horror context.
