The Clearing is an interesting take on the zombie apocalypse genre. It captures a raw, gritty atmosphere that really sets it apart. The pacing feels deliberate at times, building tension as we follow a father's desperate quest to save his daughter. There’s a sort of bleakness that permeates the film, enhanced by practical effects that give the undead a tangible presence. Performances are solid, especially the lead, who brings a palpable sense of urgency and emotion. It’s not your typical action-packed romp through a horde; it dives deeper into the personal stakes of survival, making it feel more intimate and haunting.
