So, 'The Day We Met' is a quirky piece from 1990 that blends comedy with some heavy drama and an edge of thriller. Arik, our protagonist, is off to do his army duty, and the whole premise of him chasing after a uniformed rapist adds an unlikely tension to the narrative. The performances are interesting—especially Arik's interaction with Natalie, a young soldier with her own baggage. It’s the kind of film that juggles its tones, sometimes making you laugh and then pulling you back to a somber reality. The pacing is uneven, which might put some off, but I think it adds to the whole atmosphere. Practical effects are minimal, but it feels authentic enough to its time. Definitely a unique entry for collectors looking for something off the beaten path.
