The Days 3 is quite a unique slice of life. It continues Wei Xiaobo's intimate documentation of his relationship, capturing those raw moments that many would gloss over. The pacing feels unhurried, almost like you're sitting in the living room with them, observing their joys and struggles. Between 2013 and 2017, we see their marriage unfold, but it’s not all sunshine; there's tension, doubt, and those little life hurdles that many couples face. The atmosphere is very personal, almost diary-like, which might not appeal to everyone, but it has a certain authenticity that’s hard to shake off. The practical approach to storytelling really sets it apart from more polished documentaries. It's a real look at the messy, beautiful parts of life, which I find refreshing.
