The Doorkeeper is an interesting little horror flick that plays with mood and tension effectively. Set mostly in a dimly lit corridor, the film's atmosphere is thick with dread, thanks in part to its sound design and the practical effects that feel quite tactile. The janitor's mundane task of closing doors quickly spirals into a tense standoff with whatever lurks in the shadows. There's a rawness to the performances that adds to the unease, making you feel the weight of each door he encounters. The pacing is deliberately slow, which amplifies the suspense, and you can't help but appreciate the film's minimalist approach to horror. It’s not about the jump scares, rather it gets under your skin, creeping you out in a more subtle way.
Great example of minimalist horror.Strong focus on atmosphere and tension.Interesting take on fear of the unknown.
