So, 'The Fable: The Killer Who Doesn't Kill' is quite the curious blend of action and comedy, yet it really nails that crime vibe throughout. Akira, the titular Fable, finds himself in this odd juxtaposition of wanting to step away from his assassin life while still being pulled back into it, which gives the film a unique tension. The pacing is laid-back at times, almost too relaxed, especially for an action flick, but it kind of works, creating this almost slice-of-life atmosphere. The performances by the leads are solid, capturing that sibling dynamic quite well. There's also some clever practical effects mixed in with the action sequences, which, to me, adds a nice touch. It's not your usual hitman film, that's for sure.
