So, 'The Favor' really catches you off guard with its slow-burn approach. It’s set in this dimly lit restaurant, which adds to the creeping tension. The story kicks off when a waitress is asked to guard a mysterious notebook, and you can feel the weight of that request. You know it’s something dark, but the film does well to keep you in the dark for a bit. The pacing is deliberate, which builds a great atmosphere, and the practical effects, when they show up, hit hard. The performances, especially from the waitress, feel grounded, throwing you into this surreal and unsettling situation. It’s not your typical horror fare, but that’s what makes it distinct, I think.
Intriguing premise with a mysterious notebook.Atmospheric setting enhances the tension. Not your typical jump-scare horror.
