The Fear of Trilogy is a curious piece, really. It features Maxine Peake, who brings a unique vibrancy to the three fears it explores: birds, falling, and sleepwalking. The whole thing was shot in a single day, which gives it this raw, almost immediate quality that's hard to ignore. You can tell it was filmed on a mobile phone, and while that might sound limiting, it actually adds a certain intimacy, I think. The pacing is brisk, but it manages to linger just enough on the absurdity of the fears. Practical effects? Well, they're minimal, but that kind of works in its favor here, keeping the focus on Peake's performance and the themes of anxiety and the absurdity of fear.
