The Fisher King is a wild mix of comedy and drama, with Gilliam's signature surreal touches. The way he captures New York’s grit and magic is something else. Jeff Bridges plays a radio host whose life is a mess, and Robin Williams is just heartbreaking as the homeless man on his quest. There’s a raw humanity to their performances that feels so genuine. The pacing is a bit uneven, swinging between whimsy and heavy themes of redemption and loss. The practical effects, especially in the dream sequences, add a layer of visual storytelling that’s hard to replicate. It’s not just a quest for the Grail; it’s really about facing your demons. Quite a ride.
