The Goldfinch has this heavy, almost suffocating atmosphere that mirrors the protagonist's life. An interesting mix of tragedy and art world intrigue, it doesn’t shy away from darker themes. Ansel Elgort gives a solid performance, capturing the turmoil of a boy thrust into chaos. The pacing feels deliberate, maybe too slow for some, but it really immerses you into Theo's spiraling world. I’d say the cinematography and set designs stand out—those museum scenes are rich and almost haunting. The narrative does meander at times, but that’s part of its realism, I guess. It’s definitely a film that lingers in your mind, which is nice, even if it feels a bit uneven overall.
