The Grove is an unsettling blend of drama and horror that digs deep into the psyche. Patrycja Kępa's direction really leverages a raw atmosphere, capturing the tension of Terrance’s spiraling descent into madness. The pacing feels deliberate, allowing moments of silence to amplify the horror. The practical effects used during his transformation pack a punch, making the fear all the more raw. The performances, especially from the lead, really stand out – they draw you in and make you feel the weight of despair. It's that unique combination of psychological exploration and body horror that makes it distinctive. Definitely a film that lingers with you long after it ends, in a not-so-comfortable way.
