The Guys (2017) is this quaint little film that manages to blend comedy, drama, and romance in a way that feels both light and surprisingly genuine. Alfi, our hapless protagonist, finds himself in quite the pickle when he falls for his boss's daughter. And the boss? He's got his own subplot with Alfi's mother, which adds a nice layer of complexity to the story. The pacing is a bit uneven at times, but it gives you room to breathe and really soak in the characters. The performances feel authentic, especially in the quieter moments. It’s not about flashy effects, more about the everyday struggles of love and friendship. There’s something refreshing about its simplicity, you know?
