The Hallucination Kingdom is a gritty dive into the underbelly of Alexandria’s drug scene. You’ve got Master Qaddoura, played by Hassan Abdeen, who embodies the ruthless drug dealer type, and officer Kamel, portrayed by Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, relentless in his pursuit of justice. The pacing has this slow burn, letting the tension build while we follow the brothers Morsi and Hassanein, played by Hussein Fahmy and Said Saleh, who are caught in the web of crime and duty. Fatima, played by Magda El-Khatib, adds a layer of revenge which spices things up dramatically. The practical effects are raw and serve the film's gritty aesthetic well. It’s a fascinating exploration of morality, loyalty, and the cost of vengeance.
Interesting portrayal of moral ambiguity.Good character dynamics between the main players. Not overly polished, which adds to its charm.
