The Happy Moose is one of those oddball animations that sticks with you, for better or worse. It’s not your typical kids’ fare, with a foul-mouthed bull as a protagonist who tells a wild tale about this moose and his enchanted weasels. The pacing feels off at times, like they were trying to push the boundaries of what could be considered appropriate for children. The atmosphere is a strange blend of whimsical and irreverent, making its mark with some surprisingly good practical effects for the time. The voice performances are pretty memorable, which adds to the film's distinctive charm. It’s a curious piece from '95 that raises eyebrows and might just provoke some laughs, if you’re in the right mood.
