So, The Homeless Student 2 continues the story from the first installment, and it really dives deeper into the emotional struggles of the characters. The tone is quite somber, yet it has these moments of hope that feel genuine, not forced. The pacing is a bit slow, but it allows for some in-depth character development, which I appreciate. Shin Hirano's direction is pretty straightforward, capturing the rawness of the characters' lives. The performances are heartfelt—definitely not over-the-top, but you can feel the weight of their experiences. There’s a distinct atmosphere, almost gritty, that really draws you into the world. It’s a sequel that builds on the original without trying to overshadow it, which is always nice to see.
