The Hunchback of Notre Dame II is a bit of an oddball sequel to the 1996 classic. It has a lighter tone, leaning heavily into family-friendly humor, which contrasts with the more serious themes of the original. The animation feels a bit more simplified, likely due to budget constraints. Quasimodo's friendship with Zephyr adds a new dynamic, but it’s really the circus setting that gives it a fresh atmosphere. The character of Madellaine has some charm, though her relationship with Quasi might not resonate as strongly. You’ll notice a very different pacing here; it’s more episodic and whimsical. Not quite the deep emotional pull of its predecessor, but it definitely has its moments and a certain nostalgic appeal.
