So, 'The Hunger'—not to be confused with the 1983 film—has got this intriguing premise, right? It’s all about Lauren, who on the surface seems to have it all figured out, but underneath, there’s this intense battle with her compulsive desires. The atmosphere is pretty tense, almost claustrophobic at times, really drawing you into her psyche. Axel Braun’s writing has this raw edge, and Claudia Ross's directorial debut brings a fresh perspective, though I think the pacing could be a bit uneven. The performances are compelling; you can feel the conflicted emotions bubbling just beneath the surface. It’s definitely distinctive, tackling themes of desire and taboo with a unique narrative lens.
This film is definitely going to pique collector interest, especially since it’s Ross’s first time directing. As of now, there aren’t a ton of editions out there, which makes it a bit scarce in the market. I wouldn’t be surprised if it garners attention as more people discover it, given its unique themes and the pedigree behind the project. Keep an eye on any future releases that might come out; they could add to its collectible value.
