This one is an interesting blend of comedy and crime, with Ng Man-Tat's private detective stumbling upon a baby in an alley. The film has this quirky vibe, mixing the absurdity of finding a baby with the darker undercurrents of a crimelord's pressure for his son, played by Nicky Wu, to step up and deliver an heir. The pacing is a bit off-kilter but it gives a unique rhythm to the story, almost charming in its own right. Performances are lively, especially Ng Man-Tat, who brings a certain whimsy to the character. It’s got that late '90s Hong Kong humor, where slapstick meets a touch of drama, and that’s what sets it apart in a sea of comedies from that era.
