So, 'The Last Resort' is this interesting little flick from 2025, and it really dives into that struggle of keeping a business afloat, only this time, it’s a resort. The atmosphere here feels a bit light-hearted, but there’s an underlying tension with the threat of bankruptcy looming. Alice Zaffyre, the waitress, is quite something—she's got a wild idea to bring in guests by hiring more pretty girls, which leads to all sorts of humorous and awkward situations. The pacing is decent, with moments that make you chuckle and some that make you think about desperation in business. Not a lot of flashy effects, but the performances are what keep it engaging, especially her charm and the quirky ensemble around her. Definitely a unique take on the hustle to save a failing dream.
This film is relatively new, so there isn't much in the way of extensive format history yet. It's currently available in standard digital releases, but I'm curious to see if any special editions crop up down the line, given its unique premise. Collectors may find it interesting for its blend of comedy and social commentary, especially as indie films like this often carry a certain charm and appeal that can grow over time.
