The Last Ride is an interesting blend of comedy and poignant themes, exploring mortality with a light touch. Go-hwan's struggle with Lou Gehrig's disease drives the narrative, and his friends' reactions to his wish create awkward yet funny moments. You get this mix of humor and pathos as they attempt to fulfill his desire, which leads to some genuinely touching scenes. The pacing feels a bit uneven at times, balancing between laugh-out-loud moments and reflective pauses. While the performances might not be from A-listers, they bring a raw authenticity to the characters, making their friendship feel real. It’s a film that manages to poke fun at life's absurdities while grappling with deeper themes of desire and friendship. Definitely not your typical comedy.
