The Last Son is this gritty, atmospheric piece that draws you into the spiritual and moral decay of its characters. Tim Sutton really captures the desolation of the Old West, and you can almost feel the dust and heat radiating off the screen. Isaac LeMay, played by a brooding actor, grapples with this dark prophecy and his violent past as he searches for his children. The pacing has this deliberate weight to it, allowing tension to build with every encounter. There’s a haunting quality to the practical effects and the cinematography that feels raw and unfiltered. The performances are intense; you can sense the emotional turmoil, especially in those moments when LeMay confronts his children. It’s not your typical cowboy flick, and that's what sets it apart.
