The Last Temptation of Christ is really a different take on the life of Jesus. Scorsese dives into the internal struggles of Christ, showing him not just as a divine figure but as a man wrestling with the weight of his destiny. The pacing is contemplative, which might not suit everyone, but it lets you sit with these heavy themes. The performances, especially Willem Dafoe as Jesus, carry that emotional weight well. Plus, the practical effects used in some of the visions are striking—very raw and grounding. It's a film that prompts reflection rather than just providing answers, which makes it distinctive in the Jesus film genre.
