The Last White Man is this rather thought-provoking drama that takes a deep dive into race, identity, and nostalgia. It’s centered around this elderly white guy who’s stuck in a ghetto, refusing to budge because he has this odd hope that the neighborhood will revert to its past suburban glory. The pacing is pretty reflective, allowing the audience to really soak in the atmosphere of decay and longing. The performances are solid, capturing a mix of desperation and stubbornness. I think what really sets it apart is the way it tackles heavy themes without being overly preachy, focusing more on personal experience than grand statements. Definitely a unique piece that lingers in the mind long after.
