The Locker 2 is a chilling sequel that really digs into the psychological horror territory. Kei Horie’s direction maintains a slow-burn tension, allowing the dread to seep in gradually. Ayano, played with an unsettling innocence by the lead actress, becomes the unwitting conduit for the past horrors that Reika left behind. The film's atmosphere is thick with a sense of foreboding, accentuated by the haunting score. Practical effects are used sparingly but effectively, heightening the eeriness without relying too much on CGI. The pacing fluctuates, sometimes dragging just enough to let you stew in your own discomfort. There's a strong theme of obsession and the consequences of unearthing buried secrets. It's a character-driven horror, not just jump scares, which makes it distinctive in its own right.
