So, 'The Man Who Sued God' is this quirky Australian comedy with a pretty sharp premise. You’ve got this lawyer, played by Billy Connolly, who just loses it after his boat gets fried by lightning, and the insurance company hits him with the classic 'act of God' excuse. It’s got this nice blend of satire and heart, as he goes back to lawyering to take on both the insurance giant and, in a twist, the Church itself. The pacing feels a bit uneven at times, but the performances, especially Connolly’s, are engaging. The film manages to explore themes of faith, justice, and how we deal with the absurdities of life without being overly preachy. Plus, some of the practical effects are amusingly well done for a comedy.
