The Margins is an interesting slice of early 2000s cinema, really carries this gritty, raw vibe throughout. Dragor, our lead, is this petty thief caught in a web of unexpected connections when he bumps into Gastos, who’s quite the piece of work - a former Secret Service guy turned notorious criminal. The pacing is deliberate, allowing the tension to simmer, and the atmosphere is thick with a sense of inevitability. It's got a lot of practical effects that elevate the realism of the scenarios these characters find themselves in. The performances feel very grounded, almost like the actors are living their roles. There's a lot to say about the moral gray areas it navigates, making it distinctive in its storytelling approach.
