So, "The Offering" is one of those films that really plays with the psyche. It’s got this eerie, unsettling tone throughout, really draws you in. The pacing is interesting too—slow burn at first, but when it picks up, it’s intense. Jan's character is layered; you feel his desperation and remorse. The exploration of guilt and lost love feels heavy, almost suffocating at times. What struck me was how the practical effects are used sparingly, which actually enhances the emotional core rather than overshadowing it. Performances are solid, especially from the lead, who really captures that tortured essence. It’s not your run-of-the-mill thriller, that’s for sure.
