The Onion Movie is one of those oddball entries that doesn't quite fit into the mold of your standard comedy. It’s a satirical tapestry stitched together from absurd news reports and bizarre celebrity spoofs, all narrated by Norm Archer, who delivers deadpan humor that’s both cringeworthy and hilarious. The pacing feels a bit uneven, but that’s part of its charm; you never really know what ridiculousness is coming next. The practical effects and low-budget aesthetic really give it that raw, underground feel, which makes it stand out among the glossy comedies of its time. It’s definitely a film that you either get or you don’t, but for those who appreciate that brand of humor, it’s a curious piece of satire.
