The Pink Panther (2006) is a quirky blend of adventure and comedy wrapped in a crime caper. Shawn Levy takes a fresh approach, but it definitely has its own vibe compared to the original. Steve Martin's Clouseau is a strange mix of bumbling charm and outright absurdity, often stealing the show with his physical comedy. The pacing feels a bit uneven at times, but that might just add to its offbeat charm. The visuals are colorful and there's some solid use of practical effects, which gives it a nice touch. While it leans heavily on slapstick, there are moments of clever humor that keep it engaging, even if it doesn't quite reach the heights of Sellers’ classics.
