The Pink Panther Strikes Again has this wonderfully chaotic energy, really. Dreyfus, pushed to the edge, escapes from the asylum and launches a series of bizarrely elaborate plots to eliminate Clouseau. It's like a cat-and-mouse game but with a lot more slapstick and ridiculousness. The pacing is spot on — lots of quick gags and some drawn-out moments that let the tension simmer, just before a punchline hits. The practical effects hold up surprisingly well, especially in some of the more outrageous sequences. Sellers brings his usual charm and clumsiness, and you can't help but appreciate how he navigates all the absurdity. There's a certain whimsical tone, and it feels like a culmination of everything that made the series fun.
