The Settling House is one of those low-key horror flicks that lingers in your mind long after the credits roll. It’s got this unsettling atmosphere right from the start, a creeping dread that builds as Eliza investigates those odd noises. The pacing is deliberate, which really adds to the tension; you can almost feel the weight of the silence before something jumps out. The practical effects are a nice touch, they don’t rely too much on CGI, which I always appreciate. The performances are solid, with Eliza’s growing paranoia portrayed really well. It’s distinct in how it explores isolation and the unknown within familiar spaces, making even a home feel sinister. Not your typical jump scare fest, for sure.
