The Shopaholics is this quirky comedy that dives into the absurdity of consumer culture and addiction. The lead character, Fong, is portrayed with a lightheartedness that really captures her chaotic life. The pacing is pretty breezy, with a mix of laughs and some genuine moments of reflection on spending habits. What stands out, though, is the chemistry between Fong and Choosey, the psychiatrist. His own issues add a layer of depth and humor that keeps it engaging. The film doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is part of its charm. And while it’s not groundbreaking in effects or visuals, the performances make up for it, bringing to life a story that many can relate to in one way or another.
