The Sixth Sense is a fascinating blend of drama and mystery, with a haunting atmosphere that just lingers. Shyamalan really captures the feeling of isolation through the cinematography and the score, which is pretty understated but effective in ramping up the tension. Haley Joel Osment gives a chilling performance as Cole, carrying so much emotional weight for such a young actor. The pacing is deliberate, allowing the story to unfold gradually, which I appreciate. Practical effects used for the 'visions' feel grounded, unlike a lot of CGI-heavy stuff we see today. There’s a depth to the themes around grief and acceptance that resonates long after you finish watching. It's definitely one that sticks with you.
Filmed in Philadelphia, enhancing its eerie vibe.Shot on a budget of $40 million, grossed over $670 million.Osment received an Oscar nomination for his role.Shyamalan has a cameo in the film, as usual.
