The Sleeping Beauty (2011) is quite an experience, really. It's a ballet interpretation, set to Tchaikovsky's lush score, and captures a dreamy, ethereal quality throughout. Lauren Cuthbertson as Aurora brings a delicate grace, while Sergei Polunin as the Prince infuses the role with a potent charisma that's hard to ignore. Claire Calvert also adds depth with her portrayal of the Lilac Fairy. The choreography feels fluid and organic, with a nice blend of storytelling and movement. There’s a real atmosphere here—almost magical, with the production design enhancing that fairy tale vibe. While the pacing might be slow for some, it really allows you to savor each moment. It's a unique take on a classic that stands out in the ballet realm.
