The Snake (2009) is this odd little gem that mixes comedy and romance, all wrapped up in a rather peculiar premise. So, you've got Ken, this charming but utterly irresponsible womanizer, who decides to infiltrate a women's body image support group. It's hard not to chuckle as he tries to woo Talia, a young woman dealing with her eating issues. The film has this quirky, almost offbeat tone, not taking itself too seriously. The pacing can feel a bit uneven at times, which adds to its charm, if you ask me. The performances, especially from the lead, have this rawness that feels genuine. It’s not every day you see a film tackling body image in such a roundabout, comedic way, making it stand out in its own right.
