The Star (2017) takes a unique angle on the nativity story, presenting it through the eyes of a small donkey named Bo. The animation has this charming quality, blending humor and adventure in a lighthearted way that feels quite suitable for all ages. The pacing is brisk, keeping the story engaging without dragging, which is nice for a family film. What I find distinctive is the way it humanizes the animals, giving them a sort of layered personality that isn’t overdone. The voice performances bring a playful energy to the characters, adding depth to their journey. While the visuals are not groundbreaking, they complement the overall atmosphere, making it quite an interesting take on a classic tale.
