So, 'The Unseen' is one of those 80s horror flicks that really nails an eerie atmosphere. You have these three female reporters, which adds a nice touch of character dynamics, all holed up in this creepy house with a basement that hides something sinister. The pacing is a bit languid at times, but it builds tension nicely. That sense of dread lingers as they uncover the mystery of the being lurking below. The practical effects are less flashy than what you’d see in slashers, but there’s a certain grim charm in their simplicity. The performances, especially from the leads, feel genuine and grounded, which makes the whole experience more unsettling. It’s a distinct blend of claustrophobia and suspense that’s worth digging into.
