The Who: Live from Toronto captures that raw energy of rock in its purest form. Filmed in '82, you really get a sense of the band at a pivotal moment in their career, right at the height of their North American tour. The stage presence of Townshend is electrifying, and the addition of Kenny Jones on drums gives a fresh twist to their classic sound. The atmosphere in Maple Leaf Gardens is palpable, almost like you’re right there in the crowd, soaking in every chord and lyric. The pacing flows well, moving through their hits with a certain urgency, but it also allows for those quieter moments to breathe. It’s a great snapshot of a time when live music was visceral and authentic, capturing the essence of a legendary band.
