The Wild is one of those animated features that went somewhat under the radar in 2006. Directed by Steve Williams, it mixes a bit of heart and humor but doesn't quite break new ground in the genre. The character design is interesting, though not as polished as Pixar's work from that era. The pacing feels a bit uneven at times, with some slower moments that might lose younger audiences. Still, it tackles themes of friendship and finding one's place, which is always a good fit for family films. The voice performances have a decent energy, especially from veterans like Eddie Izzard and William Shatner. It's a curious film if you're into animation history, just not the standout you'd hope for.
