This documentary really captures the essence of urban life and nature intermingling. It’s about Mark Bittner, a guy who plays music and lives on the streets of San Francisco, and his connection with a flock of wild parrots. The cinematography is pretty lovely, showing off both the city and these vibrant birds in such a unique way. You can feel the warmth and sometimes the loneliness in Mark’s journey. The pacing is contemplative, letting moments breathe, which makes the interactions with the parrots feel more profound. Judy Irving does a great job balancing humor and poignancy without overdoing it. The whole thing feels very organic, almost like the parrots are part of the city’s heartbeat.
