So, 'The Wolves in the Sheepfold' is quite an interesting piece from 1960. Directed by HervĂ© Bromberger, it takes a gritty dive into the lives of three gangsters who find themselves in a tight spot and invade a rehab center for troubled teens. The atmosphere is tense, with a palpable undercurrent of moral conflict among the residents. What I find distinctive is how the film portrays the teenagersâsome wanting to stand up against the criminals while others are more sympathetic to their plight. The pacing is deliberate, allowing for character development that really grounds the story. The performances, especially from the couple running the center, carry a weight to them that lingers long after the credits roll. It's not your typical crime flick, that's for sure.
