They're Outside is an intriguing blend of psychological horror and a character study. Max Spencer, the YouTube psychologist, tries to coax an agoraphobic woman out of her home, and the tension builds in a really interesting way. The pacing feels deliberate, almost claustrophobic, matching the themes of isolation and fear. The local legend about black magic adds a haunting undertone that seeps into the narrative, creating a sense of dread that lingers. I found the practical effects to be refreshingly unpolished yet effective, grounding the supernatural elements in reality. The performances, especially from the lead actors, feel raw and authentic which makes the emotional stakes all the more compelling. It's definitely got a unique vibe that stands apart from typical horror fare.
