Three Girls and a Pig is a curious piece from 1972, steeped in a surreal atmosphere that’s hard to shake off. The isolation of the three women in a bedroom has this claustrophobic feel, which only intensifies with the strange juxtaposition of the pig, initially a symbol of innocence. The whole castration aspect adds this grim layer, almost a commentary on masculinity or perhaps the loss of innocence itself. And then there's Dracula lurking outside, turning this already tense scenario into something more sinister. It’s not the typical horror film; it plays with psychological dread and has a very unique tone. Definitely a talking point in any collection.
This film has a bit of a cult following but remains relatively obscure, making it a collector's curiosity. It has seen a few low-quality VHS releases, but official prints are scarce, adding to its mystique. Many collectors appreciate its bizarre thematic content and the unusual blending of horror and psychological commentary. A fascinating addition for those drawn to the unconventional side of 70s cinema.
