To Die Standing is pretty gritty for a 90s action flick, you know? The whole vibe is raw, set against the backdrop of drug wars that feels very much like the era. Willis, played with a tough-as-nails attitude, really embodies that rugged DEA agent archetype. His chemistry with Delgado, the Colombian cop, adds this layer of tension and camaraderie that makes the narrative pulse. The pacing can be uneven at times - a bit slow in parts, but it ramps up during the action sequences which are quite well done for the budget. And while I can't say the performances are Oscar-worthy, they bring a certain authenticity to the story. The film's not really about flashy effects, but it captures the desperation of the streets really well.
Gritty portrayal of drug enforcement.Strong chemistry between leads.Authentic street atmosphere.
